Empowering Local Businesses on Germany’s Largest Classifieds Platform

As the only designer responsible for the B2B segment of Kleinanzeigen, Germany’s largest classifieds platform, I played a pivotal role in reshaping the “PRO” product, which provides subscription services for local businesses. Prior to my involvement, the platform offered limited value for businesses, with only a few features to boost their postings. My mission was to radically enhance the experience, increasing the value of the subscription and enabling businesses to thrive within the platform.
Through extensive research and user interviews, we identified key pain points and needs for PRO users. This led to a comprehensive backlog of features designed to better serve local businesses and give them more opportunities for visibility and engagement. Among the standout features developed during this time were a completely new business page index and redesigned business pages.
The business page index allowed users to discover and interact with local businesses more intuitively, transforming it into a dynamic space for local commerce. The revamped business pages themselves offered businesses greater control and customization, showcasing their services in a way that better aligned with their goals and needs. These features significantly enhanced the value of the PRO subscription, empowering businesses to leverage Kleinanzeigen for growth and visibility.
This work not only improved the user experience for local businesses but also opened up new revenue streams for the platform by offering businesses a more valuable and tailored solution.
